Job summary

GE Vernova Hitachi Nuclear Energy Americas LLC is seeking a skilled operator at the Morris Operation facility to perform rounds, operate and maintain critical systems, and support radiological controls. The role requires working rotating shifts, ensuring safety culture, and following strict regulatory procedures.

Candidates should have five years in nuclear operations, strong mechanical and electrical drawing interpretation skills, and be capable of obtaining required site access.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Minimum of five years of commercial nuclear or military nuclear operations experience.
• Demonstrated mechanical systems experience and troubleshooting capability.
• Ability to obtain and maintain required site access authorizations and security clearances.
• Ability to work in radiologically controlled areas and utilize required PPE.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical drawings.
• Ability to operate computers and electronic work management systems.
• Willingness to complete required certifications, including Emergency Coordinator qualification.
• Ability to work overtime and varying work schedules.

Responsibilities

• Uphold GEH Morris’ nuclear safety culture, prioritizing integrity, safety, security and quality.
• Perform rounds, monitor facility and equipment for compliance and safe operation.
• Independently conduct operating, maintenance, and nuclear safety assignments.
• Operate equipment/systems such as chiller, filtration, ventilation, and electric plant.
• Perform equipment repair and preventive maintenance.
• Operate radiological survey equipment and maintain radiological reports and logs.
• Operate forklifts, cranes and other heavy equipment as needed.
• Act as back shift emergency coordinator to stabilize the site during off-normal conditions.
• Maintain shift status reports, logs and records.
• Ensure compliance with safety and quality regulations through procedures and tracking systems.
• Work with minimal supervision and exercise independent judgment.
