Job summary

GE Vernova's Morris Operation facility seeks a skilled operations technician to support safe nuclear waste storage activities on a rotating shift. You will perform rounds, operate equipment, monitor systems, and conduct maintenance while following safety, quality, and regulatory procedures.

The role requires five years of nuclear operations experience, the ability to obtain site access and PPE, and independent judgment.

Qualifications

• Minimum of five years of commercial nuclear or military nuclear operations experience.
• Ability to obtain and maintain required site access authorizations and security clearances.
• Ability to work in radiologically controlled areas and utilize required PPE.

Responsibilities

• Uphold GEH Morris’s nuclear safety culture with emphasis on integrity, safety, security and quality.
• Perform rounds, monitor facility and equipment for compliance and safe operation.
• Independently conduct various operating, maintenance, and nuclear safety assignments.
• Operate equipment/systems including chiller, filtration, ventilation, and electric plant.
• Perform equipment repair and preventive maintenance.
• Operate radiological survey equipment and decontamination work; maintain radiological reports, logs, and records.
• Operate forklifts, cranes, and other heavy equipment as needed.
• As back shift emergency coordinator, take initial actions to stabilize site during off-normal conditions.
• Maintain shift status reports, logs, and records.
• Ensure compliance with regulations through procedures, calendars, databases and tracking systems.
• Work with minimum supervision and apply independent judgment.
