Job summary

Navarro Research and Engineering is recruiting an HVAC Engineer for a new Nuclear Fuel Facility. The role focuses on ventilation, heating, cooling, and ducting systems with emphasis on safety, confinement, and reliability.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in nuclear or DOE environments, experience coordinating with process equipment and I&C, and a strong background in hvac design deliverables and safety standards. U.S. citizenship and security clearances are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical or architectural engineering or a closely related discipline.
• 5+ years HVAC engineering experience in nuclear/DOE/high-hazard environments.
• Experience with ventilation systems, heat exchangers, fans, piping, ducting, and airflow calculations.
• Ability to interpret HVAC drawings, P&IDs, and vendor data; meet safety requirements.

Responsibilities

• Develop, review, and maintain HVAC calculations, diagrams, layouts, and specifications.
• Coordinate HVAC design interfaces with process engineering, piping, electrical, and other teams.
• Review vendor submittals for fans, heat exchangers, air handling units, and related components.
• Support design reviews, hazard reviews, constructability reviews, and commissioning planning.
• Prepare calculations, technical evaluations, and field change documents.
• Maintain configuration control, safety requirements, and project communications.
• Assist in turnover activities and documentation.
