Job summary

Longenecker & Associates (L&A), a Geosyntec Company, seeks an Operations and Testing SME to support the Y-12 PMO in Oak Ridge, TN. The role emphasizes testing, commissioning, and readiness of nuclear facilities for DOE projects.

The successful candidate will oversee contractor testing programs, provide guidance on HVAC, electrical, piping, and glovebox systems, and produce assessment reports while coordinating with M&O Contractors for field oversight.

Qualifications

• Minimum 7 years’ related experience.
• Experience with nuclear facility/system requirements (NQA-1, DOE O 425.1 D, NRC CFR).
• Test/operations engineer or nuclear operations at a major facility.
• Strong background in HVAC, compressed air, electrical, chemical processes.
• Experience during commissioning, restart, or readiness activities of nuclear facilities.
• Ability to read prints and process piping diagrams.
• DOE/NRC regulated test programs experience.
• U.S. Citizenship and ability to pass DOE background checks.

Responsibilities

• Oversee, review, and evaluate the contractor’s testing program and records for quality and completeness.
• Serve as SME on testing of systems (mechanical, piping, gloveboxes, electrical, HVAC).
• Serve as SME on commissioning and readiness of nuclear facilities (NQA-1, DOE O 425.1 D, NRC CFR).
• Address emergent issues by researching and providing information.
• Oversee planning, execution, and status reporting for oversight activities.
• Provide technical guidance on chemical, mechanical, electrical, piping and HVAC issues.
• Interface with M&O Contractors and perform field walkdowns for oversight.
• Produce quality written assessment reports with minimal revisions.
• Other duties as assigned.
