Job summary

RSI seeks an experienced Senior Engineer to support the Y-12 PMO in monitoring and assessing the technical quality, progress, and execution of major capital projects in Oak Ridge, TN.

The role provides independent engineering oversight throughout planning, design, procurement, construction, testing and commissioning, with focus on the Lithium Processing Facility project and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited institution.
• Minimum 10 years of engineering experience on large construction or capital projects >$10M.
• Minimum 5 years on nuclear, chemical, or similarly regulated facilities.
• Strong oral and written communication skills for briefing senior management.

Responsibilities

• Provide independent engineering oversight across planning, design, procurement, construction, testing and commissioning.
• Serve as a technical resource to PMO personnel, participate in design reviews and evaluate engineering solutions.
• Support RFI processes and assess design changes for technical adequacy and risk.
• Monitor design activities through 30%, 60%, and 90% reviews and verify compliance with codes and project requirements.
• Assess contractor processes, technical performance and project execution practices.
