Los Alamos National Laboratory in Los Alamos, NM seeks Nuclear Facilities Engineer I or II to support the Install Engineering team on construction and maintenance projects, ensuring conformance with project documents and field execution.

The role emphasizes field verifications, design coordination, contract oversight, and collaboration between design engineers and construction crews; PE/DOE familiarity is preferred, with a Bachelor's in engineering and 2–3 years of experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering and 2–3 years of practical work experience.
• Awareness of national and industry codes and standards; PEs preferred.
• Familiarity with DOE standards and able to read engineering drawings.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical guidance to field execution teams on codes, standards, and design criteria.
• Manage design changes, submittals, RFIs, and commissioning turnover processes.
• Perform field verifications to ensure construction aligns with drawings and specs.
• Oversee externally executed design efforts and maintain contractor coordination.
• Collaborate with design engineers and construction personnel to resolve issues.
