Job summary

Idaho National Laboratory is seeking an undergraduate intern to support the Process Modeling & Analysis team on uprate and capacity expansion studies. You will develop Python-based tools, test them, and work with data from public and industry sources.

The internship provides hands-on research software development experience in a national laboratory setting, with a 9x80 on-site schedule at the Idaho Falls campus. Start date and duration vary with the project and student availability.

Qualifications

• Enrolled full time in an undergraduate degree program (STEM preferred).
• GPA minimum 3.0 or higher.
• Must be eligible to work in the U.S. (CPT/OPT).
• Resume, CV, unofficial transcripts, and class schedule required.
• Ability to work both independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

• Develop, test, and document Python-based modeling tools.
• Write and maintain automated tests for analysis software.
• Collect, organize, and clean plant data from public/industry sources.
• Perform data analysis and visualization to support assessments.
• Contribute to technical documentation and summarize findings.
