Job summary

Norfolk Naval Shipyard seeks a NUCLEAR ELECTRICAL SYSTEMS INSPECTOR (SHIPS) LEADER within the Quality Assurance Office (Code 130). The role oversees inspection activities in the Nuclear Inspection Division (Code 139) and Receipt Inspection & Electrical Branch (Code 1393), ensuring compliance with nuclear standards.

The incumbent leads inspectors, maintains inspection records, and performs surveillance to verify workmanship and adherence to specifications.

Qualifications

Screen-out element: ABILITY TO LEAD OR SUPERVISE is required.
Experience performing electronic, electrical and electro-mechanical inspections.
Experience performing receipt inspection and material condition assessment.
Experience utilizing electrical theory and instruments.
Experience performing surveillance of ongoing or completed work.

Responsibilities

Ensure plans, materials, and tools are available for inspections.
Check inspections in progress and after completion.
Perform electronic, electrical, and electro-mechanical inspections for pre-arrival and material condition assessment.
Lead inspectors regularly during duties.
Maintain records of inspections, results, and corrective actions.
Surveil ongoing or completed work to ensure compliance with directives.
