Job summary

Apollopros in Summerville, SC seeks a QUALITY INSPECTOR 2 to perform inspections and nondestructive tests (UT, MT, PT, visual, dimensional, load tests) on mechanical, electrical or structural components to meet Naval reactor plant quality standards. The role reports to a Supervisor, Inspection and works under general supervision.

The position requires a high school diploma (or equivalent) with additional education or related experience, plus a minimum of four years in NDT.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• 2 years additional education or 4 years related experience preferred.
• Minimum 4 years of experience performing Visual Testing and Magnetic Particle Testing.

Responsibilities

• Perform inspections and nondestructive tests (UT, MT, PT, visual, dimensional, load tests) on components.
• Ensure conformance with quality requirements for Naval reactor plant projects.
• Possess authority to halt work if safety or quality is at risk.

Job Description

QUALITY INSPECTOR 2 Performs required inspections and nondestructive tests (UT, MT, PT, visual, dimensional, load tests, etc.) on mechanical, electrical or structural components or systems to ensure conformance with the quality requirements for Naval reactor plants and associated systems, in support of ship construction, overhaul, refueling and repair contracts. This job reports to a Supervisor, Inspection and works under general supervision. Work is performed within the confines of standardized Company and industry policies, practices and procedures. This job has decision-making responsibilities with regard to the acceptance or rejection of work and tests performed and the determination of measuring equipment used. The incumbent has the authority to halt work temporarily that would affect the reactor plant. Errors could be critical and adversely affect the Company's competitive position in the nuclear field.

Preferred Qualifications

• QUALITY INSPECTOR 2 -Experience in all non-destructive testing types (UT, MT, PT, visual, dimensional, load tests, etc) is preferred.
