Mission Technologies, a division of HII, is seeking a Senior Quality Control Inspector 3 in Newport News to provide inspection support across platforms, structures, and components. The role ensures work meets NAVSEA standards and contractual obligations, acting as a subject matter resource for trades and customers.

You will perform tests and inspections with minimal supervision, document results, resolve quality issues affecting safety and schedule, and maintain certifications.

Qualifikationen

• High School diploma with 5–6+ years of related inspection experience.
• Associate's Degree with 3 years relevant experience.
• Experience in shipbuilding, repair, nuclear/aviation maintenance.
• Ability to read complex technical documents and drawings.
• Familiarity with NAVSEA requirements and QA principles.

Aufgaben

• Perform in-process, final, and surveillance inspections on systems and components.
• Interpret drawings, procedures, work packages, and test requirements.
• Verify NAVSEA standards, weld procedures, and material specs.
• Document inspection results in QA records and electronic systems.
• Identify nonconformances and support corrective action and re-inspection.
• Ensure FME, cleanliness, safety, and procedural compliance during work.
• Collaborate with production, engineering, planning, and test to solve issues.
• Participate in audits, surveillances, and quality reviews.
• Maintain required certifications and qualifications.
