Job summary

NORFOLK NAVAL SHIPYARD seeks an Insulator Supervisor I in the Pipe Shop to lead insulation trades, align resources with production goals, and ensure safety and quality standards are met. The role requires coordinating workers, materials, and schedules in a fast-paced shipyard environment.

Responsibilities include directing subordinates, implementing the AIM process for work units, and maintaining productive work sequences to support mission readiness.

Qualifications

• Screen-out element: two points on the screen-out element(s) to determine eligibility.
• Ability to lead or supervise insulator processes and trade skills.
• Experience directing and coordinating workers, overtime, and training.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the quality and quantity of subordinate work.
• Plan use of workers, facilities, materials and tools via the AIM process.
• Monitor progress against schedule and adjust to meet requirements.
• Clearly communicate performance standards to leaders and journeymen.
• Support efficient shipyard operations and establish deadlines and sequences.
