Job summary

Kiewit Nuclear Solutions is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer in Lenexa, KS (or Oak Ridge, TN) to support nuclear and industrial power system design. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• 5+ years in electrical system design for industrial or nuclear power plant projects.
• PE license or ability to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Power System Studies: conduct and review detailed AC/DC calculations using ETAP, including short circuit, voltage drop, arc-flash, motor starting, and relay coordination.
• Procurement & Vendor Support: develop and review equipment specifications; participate in bid evaluations and manage vendor Q&A tracking.
• Design Development: prepare scoping documents and perform constructability reviews; design and review lighting, communications, and security systems.
• Collaboration & Client Interface: coordinate with multidisciplinary engineering teams; engage with clients and implementation personnel.
• Travel: visit client/vendor offices and plant sites for design reviews and construction coordination.
