Job summary

General Matter in Paducah, KY seeks an Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Engineer to lead regulatory compliance and risk mitigation for advanced enrichment pilot-scale operations.

You will develop and implement EH&S programs, perform hazard analyses, lead incident investigations, and collaborate with engineering, operations, and quality teams to ensure safe facility design and operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a safety, health, or engineering discipline.
• 5+ years in occupational safety, industrial hygiene, or EH&S roles.
• Knowledge of OSHA 29 CFR 1910, 10 CFR 20, 10 CFR 70, and DOE/NRC EH&S requirements.
• Strong writing, documentation, and reporting skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement EH&S programs for R&D and pilot-scale operations.
• Perform hazard analyses and conduct incident investigations.
• Lead audits, inspections, and corrective action programs.
• Collaborate with engineering, operations, and quality teams to ensure safe design and commissioning.
• Deliver EH&S training and maintain PPE programs.
• Manage hazardous waste handling per regulatory requirements.
