Job summary

APTIM is seeking an experienced Work Planner to support Decontamination and Decommissioning activities at Bettis Atomic Power Laboratory for Naval Reactors. The role requires knowledge of nuclear work planning procedures and experience in a DOE nuclear facility environment, with familiarity in Integrated Safety Management.

Responsibilities include planning decommissioning work, developing work packages, and ensuring resources, time, and budget align with project requirements.

Qualifications

• Computer literate; intermediate MS Office (Word & Excel).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment with a sense of urgency.
• Attention to detail and time management.

• High school diploma or equivalent; a Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, or physical sciences is preferred.
• Experienced in a highly regulated environment.
• 5 years nuclear or industrial experience preferred, preferably at a DOE nuclear site.
• Excellent safety performance and judgement.
• Radiological Worker and HAZWOPER training preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan and schedule decommissioning work activities for the project.
• Plan all aspects of the job to ensure job specs are correct and resources are available.
• Develop/review work packages with estimates, instructions, procedures, and safety/testing requirements.
• Handle planning duties for mechanical, electrical, structural, and radiological equipment; resolve work restraints and close packages.
