Job summary

Kiewit is seeking an entry-level Contract Specialist for the Nuclear market to manage the full lifecycle of supplier contracts from RFP to closeout. You will negotiate terms, manage supplier relationships, and ensure compliance with project requirements.

Based in Lenexa, KS, this full-time role emphasizes collaboration with engineers, estimators, buyers, and logistics teams and offers strong growth opportunities within the Kiewit Supply Network.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Construction Management or related field.
• 2+ years’ experience in contracts and supply chain functions; military and veterans encouraged.
• Experience with RFP process, contract development/negotiation, and procurement execution.
• Experience collaborating with engineers, estimators, buyers, logistics and expediting in the procurement process.
• Minimum of 2 years of negotiation experience with suppliers; experience reviewing and managing contracts and researching vendors on projects.

Responsibilities

• Develop, review and negotiate terms and conditions of supplier contracts.
• Manage supplier contracts and supplier relationships to meet standards and client requirements.
• Research and evaluate suppliers based on price, quality, selection, service, support, availability, reliability, and reputation.
• Ensure material buyers are purchasing high quality materials at lowest cost per specifications and drawings; manage lifecycle of procured items.
• Prepare/issue RFPs and evaluate vendor/subcontractor proposals to meet project constraints of budget and schedule.
• Assist in the development of company-wide procurement templates.
• Leverage vendors/subcontractors across multiple procurements to create cost savings to projects.
• Confer with staff and vendors to discuss defective or unacceptable goods and determine corrective action.
• Utilize logistics team to ensure on-time shipments and resolve delivery issues.
• Assist in negotiating high-risk contracts and resolve escalated contract issues for projects.
