Job summary

Kiewit is seeking an Entry Level Contract Specialist for our Nuclear market to support end-to-end procurement, from RFP through contract closeout. You will negotiate terms, manage supplier relationships, and drive cost-saving strategies across multiple projects.

You will collaborate with engineers, estimators, buyers, and logistics to ensure compliant, cost-effective procurement. This role emphasizes safety, teamwork, and initiative within a growing, high-backlog environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 2+ years in contracts & supply chain functions.
• If no degree, minimum of 4 years in supply chain & contracts.
• Experience with RFP process, contract development/negotiation, and procurement execution.
• Experience with engineers, estimators, buyers, logistics and expediting.
• Minimum 2 years of negotiation with suppliers and contract review/managing.
• Construction experience, federal market preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and databases to create contracts.
• SAP experience is a plus.
• Strong communication and initiative, ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Develop, review and negotiate terms and conditions of supplier contracts.
• Manage supplier contracts and relationships to meet standards and client requirements.
• Research and evaluate suppliers based on price, quality, service, availability and reputation.
• Ensure material buyers procure high quality materials at lowest cost per specs.
• Prepare and issue RFPs and evaluate proposals to meet budget and schedule.
• Assist in developing procurement templates for company-wide use.
• Leverage vendors across procurements to create cost savings.
• Discuss defective goods and determine corrective actions with vendors.
• Coordinate with logistics to ensure on-time shipments and resolve issues.
• Assist in negotiating high-risk contracts and resolve escalated contract issues.
