Job summary

Framatome in Lynchburg, VA is seeking a Component Engineer to repair, replace and improve equipment for nuclear plants. The role offers exposure to ASME codes, nuclear regulations, materials, welding, fabrication and field implementation with mentorship from experienced engineers.

You will work on mechanical design, structural analysis and engineering evaluations, traveling to customer sites as needed and contributing to outage execution and next‑gen reactor technologies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related field.
• Willingness to travel and work on multidisciplinary teams.
• Experience with nuclear project environments is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Solve a range of straightforward problems, analyze solutions and assess each using standard procedures.
• Ensure compliance with regulations and engineering standards with senior staff support.
• Evaluate, select and apply standard technical techniques with minor adaptations.
• Develop knowledge of processes and customers through project work.
• Provide suggestions for process improvements and maintain safety mindset.
• Support repair and replacement of mechanical and structural components in nuclear plants.
• Prepare design drawings, installation packages, and technical reports.
• Assist in developing work packages for plant outages and field implementation.
• Learn and apply ASME Boiler & Pressure Vessel Code requirements.
