Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree in Nuclear Medicine required.
• 1 year of experience as a nuclear medicine technologist in a hospital setting.
• Ability to work under pressure and handle confidential data.
• Ability to monitor and improve performance of self or team.
• Knowledge of nuclear medicine equipment and safety to minimize radiation exposure.

Responsibilities

• Performs high quality nuclear cardiology procedures for outpatients, explains tests and safety, operates equipment, assists during testing, and documents results.
• Operates cameras and imaging equipment to monitor radiopharmaceutical effects.
• Prepares and administers radiopharmaceuticals and isotopes by injection or inhalation.
• Uses appropriate radiation safety methods to protect patients and staff.
• Oversees ordering, storage, handling, and disposal of radiopharmaceuticals.
• Assists in quality assurance, calibration and maintenance of equipment and ICAL activity.
• Performs required documentation and record keeping.
