Job summary

Lehigh Valley Health Network seeks a Radiologic Technologist to provide diagnostic imaging under physician direction, while upholding radiation safety and patient care standards. The role supports emergency, inpatient, outpatient, trauma, and ICU services across the hospital network.

The candidate will operate radiographic equipment, ensure correct imaging exposure, coordinate exams with team members, and document procedures meticulously.

Qualifications

• Technical School Diploma and completion of an accredited Radiography program.
• Less than 1 year of experience.
• Ability to handle medical and confidential information ethically.
• Knowledge of radiation producing equipment and safety standards.
• Familiarity with medical terminology and radiology workflows.
• American Heart Association BLS for Pennsylvania.
• PA RT registration/licensure required.

Responsibilities

• Produces diagnostic-quality images and prepares them for radiologist interpretation.
• Maintains radiation protection standards.
• Uses appropriate exposure factors and documentation.
• Ensures safety of self and others.
• Verifies correct patient information and exam order.
• Checks supplies and equipment for patient care needs.
• Documents exam data and history in patient records.
• Coordination of daily duties and sequence of exams.
• Ensures images are PACS-ready before study completion.
• Verifies physician orders and signatures are complete.
• Reports equipment issues and test failures.
• Assists in training of new staff and students.
• Maintains clean and orderly work area.

Education

Technical School Diploma

Accredited Radiography program

1 year or less experience

Completion of Radiologic program
