Job summary

The Nuclear Company in the United States is seeking a Civil Structural Engineer to lead the design, analysis, and construction oversight of nuclear plant structures. You will prepare detailed structural calculations, review designs for constructability, and provide hands‑on engineering support for concrete and steel systems in the field.

The ideal candidate has strong command of industry codes—ACI, AISC, ASME—and a commitment to safety, quality, and regulatory compliance throughout the project

Qualifications

• BS degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from ABET‑accredited university.
• 8+ years of experience in structural engineering.
• Proficiency with structural analysis software (STAAD.Pro, GT STRUDL, ANSYS) and CAD/ED tools (AutoCAD, Tekla).
• Construction experience and ability to travel to project sites.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural analysis for steel and concrete including seismic analysis and anchoring systems.
• Coordinate with field crews, design engineers, QA, and subcontractors to resolve issues.
• Troubleshoot field issues and justify design changes during fabrication and assembly.
• Prepare and review drawings, specifications, technical reports, and calculations.
• Ensure compliance with nuclear safety regulations (IBC, ACI, AISC, ASCE 7).
• Coordinate with multi-disciplinary teams and conduct site walkdowns to verify installations.
• Execute independent engineering tasks and assume technical responsibility for projects.
• Review engineering work for accuracy and adherence to standards.
• Resolve technical issues and interpret engineering data.
• Originate and validate deliverables including drawings and change control documents.
