Job summary

Amazon is seeking a Reliability Engineer within the New Technology Introduction (NTI) team to serve as the reliability SME for emerging automation and robotics across the North American network. You will shape reliability standards, work with development teams to improve maintainability, and help evolve standards for scalable, supportable systems.

You will partner with engineering teams, vendors, and operations partners to ensure designs meet RME reliability requirements, while balancing

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical or electrical engineering (or equivalent) or 5+ years of professional experience.
  • 3+ years of reliability or maintenance engineering experience in manufacturing, logistics, automation, or industrial environments.
  • 3+ years applying reliability engineering principles including FMEA, reliability modeling, and life cycle analysis.
  • Experience developing and implementing maintenance programs for complex technical systems.

Responsibilities

  • Lead reliability assessments and design reviews for new automation and robotics technologies, identifying gaps in maintainability, serviceability, and reliability and working with development teams to resolve them before deployment.
  • Define and maintain reliability standards, maintenance strategies, and serviceability requirements — updating them as new technology types reveal gaps.
  • Conduct FMEA, reliability modelling, and life cycle cost analysis, tracking MTBF, MTTR, availability, and maintainability KPIs.
  • Partner with engineering teams, vendors, and stakeholders to represent RME reliability requirements during design, pilot, and full-scale rollout phases.
