Job summary

INSPYR Solutions is seeking a NSE Certified Network Engineer for a hybrid role in McKinney, TX or Westmont, IL. The position is a 6-month contract to hire with 1 day onsite per week, supporting a large national footprint across North America.

The role focuses on firewall, SD‑WAN, routing, switching, and wireless in a multi-site enterprise, with opportunities to work alongside senior infra professionals while gaining exposure to cloud networking and large-scale operations.

Qualifications

• 2–4 years of experience in enterprise networks.
• Experience administering firewall technologies in production environments.
• Hands-on SD‑WAN experience including monitoring and basic configuration.
• Experience with multi-site networks of routers, switches, and wireless infrastructure.
• Strong networking fundamentals: TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, VLANs, routing concepts, WAN/LAN connectivity.

Responsibilities

• Support enterprise firewall and SD‑WAN environments with configuration updates, policy administration, firmware maintenance, and backup management.
• Assist with connectivity across a large number of geographically dispersed locations.
• Configure, deploy, and troubleshoot routers, switches, wireless APs, and WAN circuits.
• Execute site deployments, technology refreshes, and infrastructure changes per standards.
• Respond to network incidents and service requests; escalate complex issues as needed.
• Collaborate on upgrades, migrations, expansions, and new location implementations.
• Monitor network health using enterprise management platforms; diagnose and resolve issues.

Overview

A growing enterprise organization with a large national footprint is seeking a Network Engineer to join its Infrastructure team. This position supports a complex, multi-site environment consisting of hundreds of distributed locations across North America.

The ideal candidate will have hands‑on experience supporting firewalls, SD‑WAN technologies, routing, switching, and wireless networking in a multi‑location enterprise environment. This role offers the opportunity to work alongside senior infrastructure professionals while gaining exposure to cloud networking, automation, and large‑scale network operations.

This position is well suited for someone who enjoys troubleshooting, infrastructure support, network optimization, and collaborating with teams across IT operations, security, and business technology.

Responsibilities

• Support enterprise firewall and SD‑WAN environments, including configuration updates, policy administration, firmware maintenance, and backup management.
• Assist with connectivity across a large number of geographically dispersed business locations.
• Configure, deploy, and troubleshoot routers, switches, wireless access points, and WAN circuits.
• Execute site deployments, technology refreshes, and infrastructure changes using established standards and procedures.
• Respond to network incidents, service requests, and operational tickets while escalating complex issues when appropriate.
• Participate in infrastructure initiatives including upgrades, migrations, expansions, and new location implementations.
• Monitor network health and performance using enterprise monitoring and management platforms.
• Investigate alerts and work through root‑cause analysis to drive resolution.
• Maintain network diagrams, IP address documentation, configuration records, and operational standards.
• Coordinate with telecommunications providers and third‑party vendors to resolve connectivity issues.
• Collaborate with support, infrastructure, security, and operations teams to ensure reliable business connectivity.

Required Qualifications

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline. Equivalent experience will also be considered.
• 2–4 years of experience supporting enterprise network environments.
• Experience administering firewall technologies in production environments.
• Hands‑on experience with SD‑WAN solutions, including monitoring, troubleshooting, and basic configuration.
• Experience supporting multi‑site networks consisting of routers, switches, and wireless infrastructure.
• Strong understanding of networking fundamentals, including:
  • TCP/IP
  • DNS
  • DHCP
  • VPN technologies
  • VLANs
  • Routing concepts
  • WAN and LAN connectivity
• Familiarity with enterprise cloud networking concepts within public cloud environments.
• Ability to diagnose and resolve network‑related issues independently.

• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
• Willingness to participate in an on‑call rotation and occasional after‑hours maintenance activities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Fortinet certifications
  • Cisco certifications
  • CompTIA Network+ or Security+
  • Equivalent networking credentials
• Experience with centralized network management and analytics platforms.
• Experience supporting enterprise wireless deployments.
• Exposure to network monitoring, ticketing, and IT service management tools.
• Basic scripting or automation experience using PowerShell, Python, or similar technologies.
• Understanding of voice, collaboration, or contact center networking concepts.
• Familiarity with security best practices, segmentation strategies, and change management processes.
• Desire to continue growing technical expertise and contribute to team development.
