Overview

Title: Infrastructure Engineer - II

Location: Miramar, FL

Duration: 12+ month contract to hire

Compensation: $50.00 - 55.00/hr

Work Requirements: US Citizen, GC Holders or Authorized to Work in the U.S.

The Senior Network Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and supporting enterprise infrastructure solutions, with a strong focus on cloud and hybrid networking. This role collaborates with cross-functional teams to deliver secure, scalable, and high-performing connectivity across on-prem and cloud environments. The engineer also serves as an escalation point for complex issues and contributes to technical standards, documentation, and process improvement.

Responsibilities

• Design, configure, and support cloud and on-prem network infrastructure (Azure, AWS, Cisco ACI)
• Manage connectivity solutions including Azure ExpressRoute, AWS Direct Connect, and BGP routing
• Support hybrid environments integrating Cisco Nexus, Palo Alto firewalls (VM & hardware), and VPNs
• Provide Tier 2/3 support and participate in on-call rotation
• Troubleshoot performance, security, and connectivity issues across enterprise networks
• Perform capacity planning, risk assessments, and contingency planning
• Evaluate new technologies, recommend improvements, and contribute to network strategy
• Maintain detailed documentation of network architecture, standards, and configurations
• Mentor junior team members and support cross-team initiatives

Qualifications

• Bachelor\'s or Technical degree in a related field or equivalent experience
• 7+ years of experience in enterprise network engineering
• Proficiency in cloud networking (Azure/AWS), BGP, and data center technologies
• Hands-on experience with Palo Alto NGFW (hardware & VM), Cisco ACI, Nexus, and QoS policies
• Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills
• Familiarity with ITIL practices and ticketing systems
• Willingness to travel up to 10%

• Experience with infrastructure-as-code and automation tools
• AWS Certification
• Previous experience in large-scale hybrid cloud environments
• Cloud Networking: Azure (ExpressRoute), AWS (Direct Connect), VPC, Transit Gateway
• Routing/Switching: BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, Cisco Nexus, Cisco ACI
• Security: Palo Alto firewalls (hardware & VM), VPN, segmentation, network policy controls
• Performance: QoS, SLA monitoring, backbone design, network optimization
