Nucor Corporation in Huger, SC, seeks a Technical Representative to serve as the primary liaison between Nucor Steel Berkeley and customers on quality and technical matters. You will develop product knowledge to ensure materials meet customer needs and support new product developments with data-driven analysis.

The role requires a metallurgy background, 5+ years in steel, willingness to travel, and leadership in cross-functional teams, with emphasis on safety and continuous improvement across

Qualifications

• Degree in Metallurgy or related field or equivalent work experience.
• Five years minimum experience in the steel industry.
• Willingness to travel extensively.
• Knowledge of flat rolled industry specifications (ASTM, JIS, automotive).
• Experience with circle gridding and formability analysis.
• Leadership experience with multi-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary point of contact between Nucor Steel Berkeley and assigned customers on quality and technical matters.
• Develop an understanding of customers' products and requirements to ensure material meets their needs.
• Support customers by addressing technical issues and advising on new product development.
• Use data-driven analysis to lead quality and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Understand customer orders and mill requirements and work with Inside Sales on metallurgical expertise and training.
• Uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Basic Job Functions:

We are seeking a qualified candidate for the position of Technical Representative. Key responsibilities include:

• Serve as the primary point of contact between Nucor Steel Berkeley and assigned customers on all quality and technical matters.
• Develop a thorough understanding of customers' products, applications, and key product requirements to ensure material consistently meets their needs.
• Support customers by addressing technical issues, providing product application guidance, and assisting with the development of new products based on current and future requirements.
• Effectively communicate customer concerns and use data-driven analysis and statistical tools to lead quality and continuous improvement initiatives throughout the mill.
• Understand customer orders and mill requirements and work closely with Inside Sales to provide metallurgical expertise, training, and technical support.

Minimum Qualifications:
