Job summary

NSA Arb LLC is seeking an experienced contractor in New Jersey to file Federal NSA IDR and NJ State OON arbitration claims, manage the full lifecycle, and ensure timely filings. You will draft negotiation notices, final offers, and IDR packets, while flagging cases for attorney escalation when needed.

This administrative/consulting role is 1099, part-time or project-based, with compensation of $25-$50 per hour based on experience.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience filing Federal NSA IDR claims through the federal IDR portal.
• Hands-on experience filing NJ State OON arbitration claims (NJDOBI/MAXIMUS).
• Experience preparing baseball-style/final-offer arbitration packets.

Company Description:

NSA Arb LLC is a medical billing and revenue cycle management company building out our out-of-network (OON) claims and arbitration operations. We need an experienced consultant who has actually filed No Surprises Act (NSA) Federal IDR and New Jersey State OON arbitration disputes, not just studied the regulations.

You'll identify eligible claims, route them to the right process, hit strict filing deadlines, and build arbitration packets that put our providers in the strongest position.

**Job Type:** Contract / Consultant (1099) — part-time or project-based, with potential to scale

Role Description:

• Review OON claims to determine eligibility for NJ State IDR, Federal NSA IDR, or neither.
• Manage the full claim lifecycle: payment/denial review, open negotiation, final offer exchange, and arbitration/IDR filing.
• Track and meet all statutory deadlines (NJ's 60-day negotiation and filing windows; federal 30-business-day negotiation, 4-day IDR initiation, and 90-day cooling-off periods).
• Prepare and submit negotiation notices, final offer statements, and arbitration/IDR packets.
• Evaluate batching eligibility for Federal IDR filings.
• Track awards and follow up on post-decision payment.
• Flag cases needing attorney escalation (disputed eligibility, ERISA/state-law issues, contested advocacy).
• Help improve our internal triage and deadline-tracking processes.

Qualifications:

Required

• Hands-on experience filing Federal NSA IDR claims through the federal IDR portal.
• Hands-on experience filing NJ State OON arbitration claims (NJDOBI/MAXIMUS).
• Experience preparing baseball-style/final-offer arbitration packets.
• Clear understanding of NJ fully-insured vs. self-funded ERISA plans (including NJ opt-in status) and how that determines process.
• Comfort working with EOBs, ERAs, QPA figures, plan documents, and payer correspondence.
• Sharp attention to hard, unforgiving deadlines.
• Ability to work independently and document your work clearly.

Preferred

• Specialized experience with Federal NSA IDR filings.
• Background in medical billing, revenue cycle management, or healthcare claims/appeals.
• Familiarity with clearinghouse and payer portal systems.
• Working knowledge of HIPAA/PHI handling requirements.

Good to Know

This is an administrative/consulting role, not a legal one. You'll act as the provider's authorized billing/administrative agent — not legal counsel. Our attorneys handle contested eligibility, legal arguments, and litigation; part of this role is knowing when to hand something off.

Compensation

$25-$50 per hour (based off of experience)
