Job summary

PHI Health is seeking a Legal Associate, NSA in Phoenix, Arizona to prepare and review medical fee dispute arbitration filings under the No Surprises Act, reporting to the NSA Lead.

You will collaborate with PHI Legal management, assist with contract review, and support AI-enabled improvements while maintaining PHI's strict privacy standards under HIPAA.

This role requires independent judgment in a fast-paced environment and offers a path to advance within PHI Health's legal team.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor degree (bar licensure preferred but not required).
• Experience in document preparation / review, quality control, or compliance.
• Excellent legal writing skills.
• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Demonstrable maturity, professionalism, and gravitas.
• Able to adapt to changing conditions, and to generate effective and pragmatic solutions to new situations and problems as they arise.
• Experience working in healthcare a plus.

Responsibilities

• Draft and perform quality-control reviews of IDR filings and identify errors, inconsistencies, missing support, and potential legal, factual, or operational risks.
• Review, organize, and prepare documents and exhibits for IDR filings.
• Meet or exceed established team KPIs, including timeliness, quality, accuracy, and volume of IDR work.
• Assist with quality-control audits, reviews and updates of IDR filing templates and automated systems.
• Work effectively with AI tools to increase efficiencies and reduce errors, and assist in AI-supported enhancements to IDR drafting and QA.
• Maintain the confidentiality of PHI and other sensitive data in accordance with HIPAA and PHI policies.
