Job summary

Applied Materials is seeking a Santa Clara-based New Product (NPI) instructor who combines technical training with subject-matter expertise on semiconductor equipment. You will develop and deliver initial classroom and hands-on training for new tools and chambers, learning fast-paced PLC/NPI products while preparing for volume production.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in engineering, education, or training; or 6 years of related experience in lieu of degree.
• 4+ years of professional semiconductor equipment experience with installation, programming, safety, maintenance, or repair.
• Experience in education, performance-based training, or training delivery to external customers desirable.
• Strong communication, presentation, and problem-solving skills; teamwork and interpersonal abilities.

Responsibilities

• Conduct training needs assessment by collecting procedures and knowledge from experts.
• Update course materials and build ISD-compliant training content.
• Lead NPI training projects and develop student guides with PowerPoint/Word.
• Deliver training in-house and at customer sites; manage classroom and lab activities.
• Provide coaching to instructors and mentor less senior staff.
• Ensure safety and equipment readiness; support tool deployment and maintenance.
• Travel domestically and internationally up to 40%.
