Job summary

Keysight Technologies in Colorado Springs is seeking an NPI Test Engineer to drive automated test development for next‑gen electronic test and measurement products. You will work hands‑on with hardware prototypes, test equipment, and software to validate designs and enable reliable manufacturing transfer.

You will partner with product design and production teams across regions, contributing to test architectures, documentation, and continuous improvement of testing processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, or related field.
• Typically 4–5 years of relevant experience in software development, test engineering, hardware test automation, or related engineering discipline.
• Experience with software that interacts with physical hardware and hardware test instrumentation.
• Experience with Git or equivalent version-control systems.
• Experience developing software in C#, C++, Python or other OO languages.
• Experience using Microsoft Visual Studio or a comparable IDE.
• Understanding of statistical-analysis concepts and their application to test data.
• Ability to develop automated tests in a product-development environment.
• Ability to clearly explain test strategies, methodologies, results, and decisions.
• Ability to teach and support partner teams using developed test solutions.
• Knowledge of analog and digital circuit analysis and measurement principles.
• Experience using electronic test and measurement equipment (oscilloscopes/probes).
• Interest in collaborating with cross-functional and cross-regional teams.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, results-driven engineering environment.

Responsibilities

• Define automated tests, measurements, and algorithms for manufacturing tests with design engineers.
• Design and develop automated tests that characterize hardware performance with DFWM considerations.
• Develop software to control test‑rack instrumentation and DUT setup.
• Perform hands-on test‑rack connections and DUT changes to develop automated tests.
• Troubleshoot issues across the complete test system (instruments, DUT, software).
• Review datasheet specs and translate requirements into manufacturing test limits.
• Package, validate, and transfer automated tests and software to production.
• Create and maintain test-support materials and troubleshooting guides.
• Collaborate with cross‑regional teams to maintain shared software architecture for NPI tests.
• Implement and maintain CI/CD, unit tests, code reviews, and controlled releases.
• Improve software-development and test‑automation practices for reliability and maintainability.
• Coordinate with manufacturing to deploy software packages on the production line.
• Develop test‑software release plans aligned with product‑development milestones.
