Job summary

Generac Power Systems, Inc. is seeking a New Product Introduction (NPI) Specialist to manage material-related activities for new products, including RFQ, Tooling, PPAP and transfers, while partnering with Strategic Global Sourcing.

You will maintain CBOMs, drive on-time delivery, coordinate PPAPs and ECOs, and support cost reduction and cross-functional reviews across engineering, production, and purchasing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain or related field OR 4 years related experience in the Supply Chain field within a similar working environment.
• Proven experience with engineering change processes.
• Advanced Microsoft Office skills (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
• Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent project management skills.
• Experience with SAP or ERP systems is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Participate in product platform value chain by ensuring program deliverables are met by timely delivery of material.
• Analyze quotations using total cost of ownership tools and should-cost analyses.
• Negotiate with suppliers on cost, parts, tooling, and timelines.
• Update and maintain the Costed Bill of Material (CBOM) for NPI projects.
• Manage On Time Delivery (OTD) performance during prototypes and development phases.
• Oversee PPAP orders from inception through engineering sign-off.
• Coordinate part releases with engineering and manage component changes.
• Transfer material purchasing responsibility after PPAP approval.
• Manage ECOs and sustaining ECOs affecting 3-year product plan.
• Oversee expediting, purchase orders, and related procurement activities.
• Maintain standard costs and support cost-reduction initiatives.
• Facilitate technical design reviews with suppliers and assess manufacturability.
• Assist sourcing of new suppliers for new or existing products.
