Job summary

VulcanForms seeks a Senior Manager, NPI Quality to lead the quality framework for the V3 consumer technology program. This role blends high-level engineering leadership with hands-on floor execution, bridging advanced development, rapid scaling, and top-tier customer expectations.

You will oversee inspection protocols, drive real-time defect resolution, validate metrology systems, and govern FAI releases for high-stakes hardware launches. A strong track record in DFQ and GD&T is required.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in quality engineering in high-consequence manufacturing.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/Materials/IE; Master’s preferred.
• Deep proficiency in GD&T, metrology, and SPC/Cpk.
• ISO 9001 or IATF 16949 and FAI/PPAP knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Govern and execute integrated NPI quality plans on the production floor from early process development through full serial production.
• Oversee definition, calibration, and validation of metrology protocols (CMM, structured light, CT) and metallurgical testing.
• Lead daily technical root cause investigations on the production line for complex defects; drive CAPA using 8D methodologies.
• Serve as primary technical quality authority for on-site customer reviews, FAIs (FAI/AS9102).
• Lead MRB evaluations and establish SPC frameworks and sensor-based verifications to maximize yield.
• Collaborate with Process Engineers, Machinists, EDM, and Surface Finishing to embed DFQ and GD&T in production workflows.
• Direct and mentor NPI Quality Engineers and Technicians; establish SOPs and training.
• Oversee supplier quality audits and material verifications for raw material and post-processing vendors.
