Job summary

Tata Consultancy Services Limited in Irvine, CA seeks an Engineer in TECHNOLOGY to design and develop electro-mechanical systems for new product development. You will integrate mechanical and electrical components, select motors/drivers/sensors, and apply PLC programming within a design context.

Role requires experience in industrial automation, CAD (SolidWorks), GD&T, and knowledge of GMP/medical device standards. Salary range listed is $90,000–$95,000 per year with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Identifies and designs equipment for new product development.
• Designs electro-mechanical systems and components.
• Performs system integration of mechanical and electrical parts.
• Uses stepper motors, drivers, sensors with PLC programming in design.
• Performs mechanical/electromechanical design with limited supervision.
• Experience in industrial automation, robotics, or precision instruments is a plus.
• Strong SolidWorks/CAD and GD&T knowledge.
• Knowledge of GMP and documentation, preferably in medical industry.
• Familiar with ISO 13485, Medical Device Regulations, MDR/MDD.
• DOE and statistical analysis knowledge preferred.
• Proficient with general computer software.

• Studies existing processes to implement improvements in new products.
• Implements automation in processes and tooling.
• Prepares and manages specifications.
• Assists technicians and engineers with problems; responsible for purchasing and designing equipment meeting safety/environmental requirements.
• Performs process/product validation activities.
• May supervise and coordinate a limited group of technicians.
• Communicates business-related issues or opportunities to management.
• Performs other duties as needed.

Must Have Technical/Functional Skills

• Knowledge and experience in product development/NPD is preferred.
• Design and develop electro-mechanical systems and components.
• Perform system integration of mechanical and electrical parts.
• Identifying and using stepper motors, drivers, sensors using PLC programming in Design.
• Under limited supervision Performs mechanical, electromechanical, developmental Design duties in New Product Development engineering, where some judgement is required.
• Experience with industrial automation, robotics, or precision instruments is a plus
• Strong experience with SolidWorks / CAD software and GD&T
• Must possess knowledge of good manufacturing practices and documentation, preferably in the medical industry.
• Knowledge of ISO 13485, Medical Device Regulatory Standards, MDD and MDR
• Knowledge of statistical analysis and design of experiments (DOE) preferred
• Knowledge of Computer programs.
• Excellent Interpersonal / communication skills, Organizational / planning and Project management skills
• Personal computer skills, Microsoft Project, Windows: word processing, project planning, presentation, e-mail, web browsers & spreadsheet software.

Salary Range: $90,000 -$95,000 year
