Job summary

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly motivated Process Development Technician to support the introduction of new products, manufacturing technologies, and automated production systems. This role sits at the intersection of engineering and manufacturing, providing hands‑on technical support during equipment development, process optimization, validation, and product launch activities.

The ideal candidate enjoys solving problems, working with sophisticated equipment, and collaborating closely with engineers to turn new concepts into robust manufacturing processes. This opportunity is well suited for professionals from electronics, medical devices, industrial equipment, automation, semiconductor, aerospace, or other advanced manufacturing industries.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the development, testing, and improvement of manufacturing processes and production equipment.
  • Run experimental builds, engineering trials, and validation activities for new products and processes.
  • Monitor equipment performance and process metrics to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Perform equipment setup, calibration, maintenance, and changeovers.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and process‑related issues to minimize downtime and improve reliability.
  • Collect, analyze, and document process data, test results, and production performance metrics.
  • Assist engineers with root cause investigations, corrective actions, and continuous improvement projects.
  • Build, assemble, and test prototypes, tooling, fixtures, and manufacturing equipment.
  • Conduct inspections and measurements using precision instruments and test equipment.
  • Maintain detailed documentation, work instructions, and validation records in accordance with quality standards.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams including Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and Operations.
Required Qualifications
  • Associate degree, technical diploma, military technical training, or equivalent hands‑on experience.
  • Experience working in manufacturing, engineering labs, product development, automation, testing, or production support environments.
  • Strong troubleshooting abilities involving mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, or automated systems.
  • Experience operating technical equipment, test systems, or manufacturing machinery.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, schematics, assembly instructions, and technical documentation.
  • Comfortable collecting and reporting data for engineering and quality purposes.
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach to problem solving.
  • Ability to work independently while supporting multiple development projects.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in medical device, electronics, aerospace, industrial automation, semiconductor, or precision manufacturing environments.
  • Familiarity with machine vision systems, sensors, robotics, PLC‑controlled equipment, or automated test systems.
  • Experience using inspection and measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, optical systems, or CMM equipment.
  • Knowledge of process validation, equipment qualification, or quality system requirements.
  • Exposure to Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or structured problem‑solving methodologies.
  • Experience supporting new product introduction (NPI) or manufacturing scale‑up efforts.
