Job summary

GE Aerospace in Auburn, AL is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to own NPI readiness for additive manufacturing parts from early build through production release. You will develop production routers, define process requirements, and help drive quality and cost targets.

The role emphasizes cross-functional leadership, process validation, and continuous improvement using Six Sigma and Lean methods to reduce waste and improve throughput.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university (or a high school diploma/GED with a minimum of 4 years manufacturing engineering experience)
• Minimum of 3 years manufacturing engineering experience
• Experience with metal additive manufacturing in production is a plus
• Strong problem solving and data analysis skills
• Ability to plan, document, and execute programs

Responsibilities

• Own NPI manufacturing readiness for assigned AM parts from early build through production release
• Develop and maintain manufacturing routers and production planning for new part introductions
• Define and validate process requirements for metal AM builds in partnership with Quality and Engineering
• Establish machine programming and build setup standards
• Plan and execute build-to-build learning and implement corrective actions
• Lead cross-functional execution of NPI deliverables to meet cost, schedule, and quality targets
• Drive process capability and variation reduction using Six Sigma tools
• Identify and execute waste reduction opportunities using Lean principles
• Own change management for NPI process maturation and training
• Train and support production on new/changed processes
