Job summary

Socket.dev is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to support the full product lifecycle from prototype to production, focusing on design for manufacturability, process documentation, and hands-on assembly support for cable, wire harness, and box build projects. You will collaborate with customers, internal teams, and offshore partners to deliver high-quality, cost-effective solutions.

Responsibilities include DFM/DFA feedback, SOPs and drawings creation, first article builds, troubleshooting, and

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering or higher.
3–5 years experience in cable assembly, wire harness, or box build.
Experience reading drawings, schematics and wiring diagrams.
Experience with CAD/CAM tools and manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with customers and internal teams on prototypes, integration, and process changes.
Perform DFM/DFA assessments and recommend cost-effective improvements.
Develop and update SOPs, work instructions, and process diagrams.
Create 2D/3D drawings and fixtures for production.
Lead First Article builds and support knowledge transfer.
