Job summary

Amphenol Communications Solutions (ACS), a division of Amphenol Corporation, seeks an Advanced Automation Engineer to partner with customers on HSIO Overpass cable automation. You will translate customer requirements into practical automation solutions and collaborate with engineering, NPI, manufacturing, and operations to ensure robust, scalable results.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related technical discipline.
• 5+ years in automation/manufacturing/process engineering.
• Strong troubleshooting of automated manufacturing processes.
• Ability to read mechanical drawings and electrical schematics.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally.

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary customer-facing technical resource for automation and manufacturability of HSIO Overpass cable solutions.
• Build strong technical relationships with customer teams across engineering, automation, manufacturing, and operations.
• Engage with customers to understand automation requirements, challenges, and objectives.
• Lead customer discussions to identify automation opportunities, risks, and solutions.
• Act as liaison between customer teams and Amphenol product development, NPI, and operations.
• Own automation-related customer issues from problem identification through root cause, corrective action and closure.
• Troubleshoot complex automation and installation problems (cable handling, routing, fixturing, tooling, vision, etc.).
• Assess root causes and determine if issues stem from product design, tooling, or process parameters.
• Develop data-driven solutions to improve automation performance and reliability.
• Support customers during trials, development, and production launch.
• Participate in on-site trials and provide hands-on technical support.
