Job summary

Apex Tool Group, LLC in Apex, North Carolina, is seeking an early-career Project Manager to lead new product development projects within the North American Hand Tool business. You will coordinate cross-functional teams, maintain schedules, and communicate decisions clearly to senior leaders.

The role requires PMP certification (or within 12 months), 2+ years of cross-functional lead experience, and strong financial acumen.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in engineering/technical discipline.
PMP certification required – active or attainable within 12 months of hire.
2+ years leading cross-functional project teams.
2+ years mechanical product experience in high-volume production.
Strong financial acumen and budgeting ability.
Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
Knowledge of an NPD stage-gate/tollgate process.
Proficient with MS Office and scheduling/PPM software (MS Project, Smartsheet, Wrike, Asana). SAP experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

Lead a portfolio of high-volume, lower-complexity cross-functional NPD projects.
Coordinate product management, design, engineering, and supply chain teams to hit milestones.
Develop and maintain project schedules and risk/action logs.
Lead weekly cross-functional meetings and monthly executive reviews.
Escalate issues and engage SMEs as needed to keep pace.
Prepare concise status reports and executive-ready presentations.
Analyze financial inputs for project capital allocation requests.
Ensure deliverables meet requirements, quality, budget, and timelines.
Contribute to PMO tools, templates, and best practices.
