Job summary

Emerson in Marshalltown, IA is seeking an experienced NPD Project Manager to drive new products from concept to launch. You will own the outcome—leading engineering teams with credibility and bridging deep technical work with business strategy.

You'll collaborate across firmware, electrical, mechanical, marketing, manufacturing, and supply chain, managing gates, risks, and stakeholder communications while shaping how products are built and launched.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or relevant work experience.
• 5+ years of engineering experience leading significant tasks within product development.
• Strong organizational, planning, and project management skills.
• Clear and concise communication; ability to navigate ambiguity.
• Willingness to attain PMP or similar certification with company support.

Responsibilities

• Project Planning & Execution across NPD phases: Initiation, Planning, Execution, Monitoring & Control, Closure.
• Lead cross-functional project teams spanning Engineering, Marketing, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Quality, and Operations.
• Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, risks, decision logs, and communications.
• Prepare and present project status at each gate meeting.
• Escalate risks and decisions impacting scope, cost, or timeline to the Steering Group.
• Build partnerships with Product Managers and leadership; communicate clearly to executives and teams.
