Job summary

Socket.dev is seeking a Mechanical Project Test Engineer to join our New Product Development team. You will evaluate potential risk areas, develop test protocols, design fixtures, execute tests, and analyze data to drive design decisions.

Responsibilities include test planning, fixture creation, data analysis, and collaborating with development teams to mitigate risks and support transition to production. BS in Mechanical Engineering with 1+ year of mechanical eng experience preferred; knowledge

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical Engineering, Engineering mechanics, or similar.
• Experience with fitness products is a plus.
• Proficiency in engineering mechanics and design analysis.
• 3D CAD and related design analysis tools experience (SolidWorks preferred).

Responsibilities

• Develop test plans and execute tests to mitigate risks.
• Design and create test fixtures and setups.
• Set up and run tests and collect data.
• Analyze data to identify root causes and verify solutions.
• Collaborate with development teams on test results.
• Support transition of product to mass production.
• Perform design analysis using FEA, fatigue analysis.
• Review drawings and perform tolerance analysis.
• Ensure compliance with product safety and test standards.
