Job summary

NR Consulting in Santa Fe Springs, CA, seeks a New Product Manufacturing Development Engineer to bridge design and production. You will design, scale, and validate robust manufacturing processes to move elastomeric parts from prototype to high-volume production.

Responsibilities include leading transition of elastomeric materials, designing tooling with mould makers, applying DOE to reduce defects, establishing PFMEA and SOPs, and supporting Lean/Six Sigma cost-reduction efforts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering.
• Proficiency with 3D CAD modelling software (such as SolidWorks, Verisurf) for tool and fixture design.
• Deep understanding of manufacturing processes (injection moulding, CNC, assembly, 3D printing).
• Working knowledge of statistical software (Minitab) and SPC techniques.
• Over 5 years of relevant work experience.
• Rubber and Plastic industry experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead the transition of elastomer parts from prototype to full commercialization.
• Design, procure, and validate injection and compression moulds with tooling partners.
• Apply DOE and moulding principles to resolve defects, flash, and dimensional variation.
• Create PFMEA, control plans, SOPs, and IQ/OQ/PQ validation protocols.
• Troubleshoot shop-floor issues and drive Lean/Six Sigma cost-reduction initiatives.
