Job summary

Dover Food Retail is seeking an NPD/DTV Engineer to develop refrigerated merchandisers and drive cost-reduction on existing lines. You will apply value engineering, collaborate across sourcing and manufacturing, and manage projects from concept to completion.

The role requires a B.S. in Engineering, 1–3 years in industrial product design, and experience with solid modeling and CAD. Preference given to those with Six Sigma/Lean tools and an MS in Mechanical Engineering.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Engineering required.
• 1–3 years of experience in design of industrial products.
• Experience with product design and solid modeling in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience in refrigeration, air conditioning, dehumidifier or related areas.
• Six Sigma and Lean tools experience preferred.
• MS Mechanical Engineering preferred.

Responsibilities

• Apply value engineering to optimize cost on existing products.
• Collaborate with Strategic Sourcing and Manufacturing Engineering on cost-saving projects.
• Manage the DTV project from concept to completion, including scheduling and cross-functional communication.
• Brainstorm new and innovative solutions to standardization and modularity.
• Develop CAD solid models and engineering simulations of proposed concepts.
• Collaborate with Product Management to validate the solution with the customer.
• Develop a test plan and work with the Engineering Lab to validate the solution.
• Conduct field tests to validate the solution.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and solve difficult problems.
