The NP/PA functions in collaborative practice with physician(s) in a private office setting for medically complex children being evaluated for physical abuse, sexual abuse, neglect, drug exposure, and other forms of child abuse. Autonomously performs patient assessment, diagnosis, and intervention according to approved protocols. Supports physician to develop and maintain patients. Collaborates with specialties and maintains continuity of care. Provides office coverage for physician(s) during periods of absence. Prescribes a variety of modalities to meet wellness and illness needs, up to and including hospital admission/discharge and prescriptive authority. Supervises private office clinical personnel as needed. Monday-Friday clinic hours from 8-4:30 with additional on-call shifts after hours, weekends, and holidays.
