Job summary

CCPN Cook Children's Physician Network in Fort Worth, TX is seeking a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant for the Ortho-APP team. The role involves autonomous patient assessments, diagnoses, and interventions within approved protocols, with physician supervision and collaborative practice.

Responsibilities include clinic and hospital coverage, potential involvement in rounds and surgery support as needed, and prescribing modalities to treat wellness and illness.

Qualifications

• Advanced Practice Registered Nurse with Master’s Degree in Nursing (APRN) and minimum 1 year pediatric nursing experience preferred.
• Physician Assistant with Master’s Degree in Physician Assistant Studies and minimum 1 year experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collaborates with physicians in outpatient and inpatient settings.
• Provides clinic/call coverage and may round for physicians during absences.

Location: Dodson Medical Office Building Department: Ortho-APP Shift: First Shift (United States of America) Standard Weekly Hours: 40

Summary: The NP/PA, Surgical functions in a collaborative practice with physician(s) in the outpatient and inpatient setting. Autonomously performs patient assessment, diagnosis, and intervention according to approved protocols. Develops and maintains own volume of patients under the supervision of a physician. Provides practice/clinic/call coverage and may round for physician(s) during periods of absence. Prescribes a variety of modalities to meet wellness and illness needs, up to and including hospital rounding/consultation, assisting in surgery if appropriate and prescriptive authority.

Education and Experience

• Advanced Practice Registered Nurses Master’s Degree in Nursing as Advanced Practice Registered Nurse and minimum 1 year of pediatric nursing experience or related specialized area strongly preferred.
• Physician Assistants Master’s Degree in Physician Assistant Studies and minimum 1 year of experience in related specialized area strongly preferred.

Licensure, Registration, and/or Certification

• Advanced Practice Registered Nurses Current Texas professional registered nurse license Current Texas professional advanced practice registered nurse license Certified as an RNFA required Certified as a Family or Pediatric Nurse Practitioner Current Basic Life Support (CPR) is required. Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) is required Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required when assigned to Cardiology and Cardiothoracic Surgery Pediatric nurse practitioner acute care certification required when assigned to Cardiology, Cardiothoracic Surgery, Neurosurgery and Pediatric Surgery/Trauma
• Physician Assistants Current Texas professional physician assistant license. Certified as a PA-C Current Basic Life Support (CPR) required. Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) required. Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required when assigned to Cardiology and Cardiothoracic Surgery
