VitalCore Health Strategies seeks a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant for the El Paso County Jail in Colorado Springs. The role focuses on ambulatory care within a correctional setting, including MAT and collaboration with medical staff and security personnel.

The position emphasizes patient education, accurate documentation, and adherence to safety protocols. MAT experience and valid state licensure are required; correctional experience is a plus but not mandatory.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited NP/PA program.
• MAT experience required.
• Current licenses or certifications in the state of employment.
• Experience in correctional setting desired but not required.
• Maintains annual licensure and credentialing requirements for physician assistants / Nurse Practitioner.

Responsibilities

• Responds to and initiates care for medical emergencies throughout the facility.
• Identifies patient health problems and prescribes treatment under the direction of a physician.
• Implements medical care utilizing therapeutic regimens approved by a Physician.
• Provides education to inmate/patient, healthcare staff, and correctional staff.
• Documents all healthcare contacts.
• Adheres to safety and security policies and participates in disaster drills.
• Delegates to and supervises other team members as appropriate.
• Adheres to Universal Precautions and other appropriate infection control practices.
• Attends training and meetings as required.
