Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited NP/PA program
• Must possess current licenses or certifications in the state of employment
• Experience in correctional health care is preferred but not required
• Maintains required annual licensure and credentialing requirements for NP/PA

Responsibilities

• Respond to and initiate care for medical emergencies throughout the facility.
• Identify patient health problems and prescribe treatment under physician supervision.
• Provide medical care using protocols approved by a physician.
• Educate inmate/patients and healthcare staff on health topics.
• Document all healthcare contacts accurately and timely.
• Adhere to safety, security policies and infection control practices.
