Job summary

Katz, Sapper & Miller (KSM) is seeking an experienced Audit Manager for its not-for-profit practice in the Indianapolis area. You will lead engagements from planning through delivery, supervise staff, and serve as the primary client contact for technical and engagement updates.

This role emphasizes not-for-profit expertise, GAAP knowledge (ASC 958), and compliance with Uniform Guidance (2 CFR Part 200). Hybrid work in the greater Indianapolis area is available with some travel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or business; CPA license in good standing.
• 5+ years of public accounting experience, with significant and demonstrated experience leading not-for-profit audit engagements.
• Experience planning and executing single audits under Uniform Guidance (2 CFR Part 200).
• Strong knowledge of FASB ASC 958 and not-for-profit financial reporting.
• Proven ability to lead audit teams and develop staff at multiple levels.
• Excellent communication, project management, and client relationship skills.
• Commitment to ongoing professional development, including 40 hours of annual CPE.

Responsibilities

• Manage multiple audit engagements concurrently across not-for-profit clients, ensuring high-quality, timely results
• Serve as the primary client contact for technical questions, planning, and engagement updates
• Plan and execute single audits in compliance with 2 CFR Part 200 (Uniform Guidance), including risk assessment and major program determination
• Review workpapers and financial statements for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with GAAP and not-for-profit standards
• Assist in the preparation of complex not-for-profit financial statements, including multi-entity consolidation
• Stay current on developments in not-for-profit accounting and state and federal compliance requirements.
