Job summary

CRB is seeking a Lead Structural Engineer to help build the Northeast regional practice for life sciences and food & beverage markets. The role blends high‑impact project leadership with discipline growth, client engagement, and collaboration with CRB’s national structural team.

The ideal candidate will lead major projects, mentor engineers, drive staffing, and establish CRB’s structural presence across Philadelphia, Boston, and the DC metro area while maintaining the highest design and QA

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an ABET‑accredited program
• Minimum of 10 years of structural engineering experience in a consulting or design environment
• PE license required; SE license preferred where applicable
• Experience leading structural scope, budget, schedule, technical coordination, and quality on complex projects
• Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities across project delivery, client service, staffing, and team development
• Strong technical judgment across structural systems, materials, codes, and standards
• Experience mentoring engineers and coordinating technical work
• Ability to support recruiting, staffing, workload planning, and team growth
• Effective communicator with clients, project managers, discipline leaders, and executives

Responsibilities

• Regional Practice Building: establish and grow CRB's Northeast structural presence and build relationships with internal teams, clients, and future hires.
• Project Leadership: lead structural design, coordination, QA/QC, and scope delivery from pursuit through closeout.
• Team Leadership: assist in recruiting, onboarding, mentoring, and performance development.
• Resource Planning and Operations: oversee staffing, backlog, and profitability while mitigating risks.
• Client and Partner Engagement: develop relationships with clients and subconsultants; identify opportunities.
• Proposal Support: help develop structural scopes and budgets for pursuits; ensure clear communication and execution planning.
