Job summary

CRB is seeking a Structural Engineer IV to deliver high-quality design solutions for mid-sized projects, collaborating with senior engineers and cross-disciplinary teams, leading scope and mentoring junior staff in Life Sciences and Pharmaceutical Manufacturing.

You will manage design budgets, develop construction drawings, perform validations, and coordinate with clients and contractors while supporting proposals and internal training.

Qualifications

  • ABET-accredited Bachelor's degree in the discipline.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience for Lead position in a design environment.
  • Strong proficiency with structural design calculations and codes.

Responsibilities

  • Lead small to mid-sized projects and manage design scope and budget.
  • Develop construction drawings and specifications with minimal oversight.
  • Mentor junior staff and coordinate with clients, architects, engineers, subcontractors and vendors.
  • Interface with multi-disciplinary teams and support proposals.

As a Structural Engineer IV, you’ll play a key role in delivering high-quality design solutions for projects of intermediate complexity. You’ll collaborate with senior engineers and cross‑disciplinary teams, lead small project scopes, and mentor junior staff. Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage discipline‑specific design scope and budget on small to mid‑sized projects.
  • Develop construction drawing packages and specifications with minimal oversight.
  • Conduct and lead field surveys, site walks, and construction field reporting.
  • Identify and document non‑compliant existing conditions during site visits.
  • Interface with clients, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and vendors.
  • Support proposal development and contribute to internal training presentations.
  • Lead squad checks and discipline reviews to ensure design quality.
  • Mentor Engineer I and Designer I/II team members.
  • Assist in system design programming and master planning with senior support.
Qualifications
  • ABET‑accredited Bachelor’s degree in discipline‑specific field
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience for Lead position, preferably in a design firm setting
  • Proficiency in structural‑specific software
  • Advanced experience with performing engineering calculations, and developing and implementing list of discipline systems designs
  • Advanced experience with the structural material codes
  • Intermediate experience with other applicable industry standards
  • Intermediate experience with applicable building codes
  • Proficient at advanced internal and external cross‑discipline project team coordination
  • Proficient at coordinating with construction trade partners, vendors and manufacturers
  • Proficient at structural design calculations with limited supervision
Preferred Qualifications
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite
  • Experience with internal discipline design and engineering training presentations
  • Experience with troubleshooting issues with discipline and systems
