Job description

North Texas Building Engineering Service Project Delivery Leader

HDR's Building Engineering Services Group seeks an experienced professional to serve as the North Texas Building Engineering Services (BES) Project Delivery Leader (PDL). The PDL reports to the North Texas BES Business Group Manager (BGM) and works closely with BES staff to manage the delivery of complex facility projects across the region.

Responsibilities
  • Promote, monitor, and develop project management skills and quality best practices for BES staff across the area.
  • Provide project management team organization and leadership for projects across the BES group.
  • Monitor project QC Review activities including assignment of experienced and qualified reviewers.
  • Lead and monitor activities for continuous improvement of Project Management, including development and use of technical standards, procedures, best practices, and lessons learned.
  • Lead quality assurance efforts to implement QA/QC Program activities, striving for continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate effectively with BES operations, market leadership/ sectors, business classes, and Professional Services Leaders.
  • Perform delegated matrix of authority (MOA) responsibilities from BGM.
  • Work with Business Group Manager to streamline and coordinate business processes consistent with overall area, corporate policy, and MOA.
  • Assist with daily operations, such as project oversight, management reviews, financials, and driving profitability at the project level.
  • Develop and implement standard project delivery practices, procedures, and approaches.
  • Participate in 0% reviews, project reviews, and PARRs and support project teams with management of claims and losses.
  • Track financial aspects of projects and coordinate and adjust work effort with project teams to verify that work is completed within budget and schedule parameters.
  • Perform other duties as needed.
  • Collaborate closely with BES leadership to promote and advance project management skills development, career path development, and mentorship of BES staff.
  • Support recruiting and retention efforts for the program.
  • Have direct knowledge of HDR project management tools and collaborate, train, and mentor staff on their implementation and use.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience developing, managing, and leading multi‑discipline project delivery teams.
  • Proven history of delivering high‑quality, profitable, and successful facility projects.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience with systems and PM tools for effective project management and delivery.
  • Extensive industry experience in delivering facility projects across market sectors.
  • Demonstrated experience with managing and leading diverse teams.
  • Commitment to quality, improvement and HDR values.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • 10 years related experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of project management experience.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office, estimating and scheduling software, project management software.
  • Ability to interact with various design teams and possess excellent organizational, project management and communication (both written and verbal) skills.
