Job summary

HDR, Inc. seeks an experienced North Texas Water Project Delivery Leader (PDL) to lead the North Texas Water Project Delivery team and collaborate with the BGM to oversee strategic projects across HDR offices in North Texas.

The PDL will coordinate with HDR’s water Market Sector Leadership to translate business development into successful project deliveries, and may serve as Principal in Charge or Senior Project Manager on critical regional projects.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • A minimum of 7 years experience.
  • Professional registration, license or certification may be required based on role.

  • Support area project management processes to remove barriers to execution.
  • Serve as a champion for cross‑Business Group efforts.
  • Project Delivery: serve as a PM on large or key projects and assist with contract reviews to manage risk.

Job description

North Texas Water Project Delivery Leader (PDL)

HDR seeks an experienced water industry professional to lead the North Texas Water Project Delivery team. As PDL, you will report to the North Texas Water Business Group Manager (BGM) and collaborate with the BGM to review, oversee, and manage highly strategic projects across all HDR offices in North Texas. You will coordinate with HDR’s water Market Sector Leadership (Drinking Water, Wastewater, Water Resource Management, and Federal Water) to transition strategic business development initiatives into successful project deliveries. You will also serve as the Principal in Charge, Project Sponsor, Client Manager, or Senior Project Manager for critical projects within the region, coordinating staffing and technical resources with service leaders throughout HDR.

Responsibilities
  • Develop project management skills for staff across all North Texas offices.
  • Provide project management team organization and leadership for projects across Area offices.
  • Perform project reviews focusing on delivery oversight, financials, schedule, quality and project staffing.
  • Coordinate with Market Sector Leaders on technical staff assignments for projects across Area offices and workshare management with HDR offices.
  • Perform matrix of authority (MOA) responsibilities as delegated by the BGM.
  • Support area project management processes focusing on removing barriers to execution to support the successful and effective delivery of HDR projects.
  • Serve as a champion for cross‑Business Group efforts.
  • Project Delivery
    • Function as a project manager on large or key projects.
    • Assist with contract review on key projects to help ensure risk management, proper staffing, quality reviews and resolution of claims.
    • Ensure the best technology and solutions are integrated into project delivery.
    • Serve as a QAQC reviewer for Wastewater projects, including plans, specifications, models, presentations, and reports, and be engaged early in the project delivery process.
  • Perform other duties as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
  • MS in relevant Engineering fields (Civil, Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, Environmental)
  • 15 years’ experience
  • Prior wastewater, drinking water, or water resources management consulting experience
  • Maintains engineering registration and has extensive related technical expertise
  • TX or OK PE or ability to obtain reciprocity within 6 months
  • Experienced in management and development of diverse teams
  • Works cooperatively with operations managers, technical staff and marketing managers on professional services‑related efforts
  • Committed to quality, improvement and HDR values
Required Qualifications
