Job summary

Flanigan’s in New York is seeking a friendly host/hostess to greet guests, manage seating flow, and assist guests throughout their visit with our signature Smile Talk. You will guide guests to tables, handle the wait list, and coordinate with the manager to address inquiries and concerns.

Role emphasizes a cheerful, professional demeanor and reliable basic English skills, plus Florida-certified vendor and food safety training compliance as part of team standards.

Qualifications

• Can reach, bend, stoop frequently.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to speak, read and write English.
• Complete and pass Florida Responsible Vendor program.
• Complete and pass food safety certification program.

Responsibilities

• Displays and maintains a cheerful and courteous temperament, as well as displays a neat and clean professional image
• Greets guests with Flanigan’s Smile Talk
• Engages guests in Flanigan’s Smile Talk while escorting them to table in a timely manner
• Efficiently manages the Wait List for seating
• Communicates guest’s questions or concerns to Manager on duty
• Keeps foyer, host/hostess station, wait area clean and free of debris, restocks and cleans menus
• Restock and maintain restroom cleanliness for guest
• Answers telephone within 4 rings, and answers guests’ questions, and/or directs guests to proper staff member
• Conclude guests’ visit with Flanigan’s Smile Talk
• Perform shift changes, opening/closing duties, assigned sidework

You’re the first smiling face our guests see every time they enter a Flanigan’s, and likely the last as they go on their merry way. You set the tone for the entire experience, greeting all of our friends and family in a warm and welcoming way. You help usher guests to their tables, manage the flow of seating, field inquiries, and greet people on the way out, just as nicely as on the way in.
